10 Crazy In-Universe Rules Star Wars Characters Must Follow
1. Order-66
It's almost inconceivable that a group of clone troopers could betray the very individuals who got them through the Clone Wars unscathed. The respect formed between the Jedi commanders and their clones must have been second to none. Indeed much of the Clone Wars series (2008 - 2020) dealt with these themes. Over time it was clear that the Jedi and the clones had developed a deep fondness for one another, bordering on friendship.
Well, that all counts for nothing when you have biochips imbedded into your brain, containing preprogrammed orders to kill. Although some clones like Captain Rex were able to resist the orders or remove the biochips before Order-66 was initiated, the majority of the troopers had no problem slaughtering their former comrades.
It's almost impossible to imagine how they could have been swayed to do such a thing. In some ways it makes it easier knowing they acted out of conditioning rather than free will. Order-66 was one of many instructions all clones were forced to follow, but it was certainly the most harrowing.
