10 Crazy Stories Warner Bros Needs To Tell In The DC Movie Multiverse

The Flash will introduce the DC Multiverse, but what crazy tales could follow?

The Flash movie recently got a new release date (November 4th, 2022), and the plan is for the Scarlet Speedster's first solo outing on the big screen to introduce fans to the Multiverse. It's already been confirmed that the hero will visit the timeline established in Tim Burton's Batman, and speculation is running rampant about which other realities he could visit.

Beyond that, however, the introduction of a Multiverse is going to be a game-changer for the DC Extended Universe, along with the establishment of alternate timelines, realities, and worlds completely unlike the one inhabited by characters such as Wonder Woman and Shazam.

Needless to say, that leaves the door open to a lot of crazy stories, and this feature will take a look at what those might be. From unexpected crossovers to those based on obscure comic book events and storylines, Warner Bros. can now reinvent these characters in exciting ways, whether it's refreshing a franchise like Justice League or putting a whole new spin on an icon like Batman.

Joker proved that an Elseworlds story can work on the big screen, so the DCEU might soon start looking a lot different to what fans have been expecting once The Flash races into cinemas...

10. Superman & Batman: Generations

Like it or not, Batman and Superman are bound to remain a focal point of stories told in the DC Extended Universe for a long time to come. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice paired them up on screen for the first time, and the results were mixed, so a story like this one could go a long way in reinventing their relationship in a standalone feature.

Superman & Batman: Generations kicks off in 1939, with each issue jumping ahead by a decade to pick up in the lives of the Man of Steel and Caped Crusader. As Clark Kent barely ages, Bruce Wayne is forced to send his wards into battle as new Dark Knights in his absence.

As you might expect, the relationship between the two heroes changes a lot over the years, and a movie - or limited series on HBO Max - exploring the way these two evolved over the decades (kicking off in a period setting) would be undeniably weird, but a tale it might be easy to become invested in.

Multiple actors could play Batman and his Robins, while a new Superman actor could make a huge impact, and potentially open the door to future adventures without the Dark Knight.
