10 Crazy X-Men Ideas Fox Had Before Marvel Got The Rights Back

9. Multiple Man

X-Men Fantastic Four
Marvel Comics

Announced in late 2017, Multiple Man immediately grabbed the attention of fans by attaching James Franco as both the title character and a producer. The prospect of seeing the actor play countless versions of this hero (who often have vastly different personalities) was exciting, and while no one was crying out for a solo adventure, it was a fun sounding project.

Multiple Man was used as a villain in X-Men: The Last Stand, but his screentime was minimal, so there's certainly a lot a movie like this could have done with the X-Factor Investigations leader.

Rumour has it that it was going to be R-Rated, and that makes sense given Franco's past work. It would have also likely been a comedy, though there were mixed reports about how close to the character's comic book adventures and origin it was going to stick. Instead, it sounds like Franco just felt it would be fun playing a number of versions of himself.
