5 - John Constantine (Keanu Reeves)
I'm going to take a wild guess and say that any fan base of a pre-existing character probably isn't overwhelmed with joy when Keanu is attached to the project. I take that back. The Bill & Ted fans are still euphoric. His casting as John Constantine wasn't just a diversion from the source, it was a full blown mistake. Constantine is a British, foul-mouthed, wise cracker with sharper wits than the devil. Keanu is ... well ... Keanu. No other actor has gotten more screen time and money with less emotional depth. I liked him as Neo, where he could be bewildered and obtusely stoic throughout the film and not force acrobatics from the other actors to carry the scene. His portrayal of Constantine is humorless, ham-handed, and over the top with the gravitas for his soul's destination. Not to mention that he stole Agent Smith's wardrobe, has black hair, clean cut features, and a boyish face. I can see why the Devil gave him back.
