10 Creepiest Child Villains In Horror Movies

7. Sadako - Ringu

Toho

During the millennium, Asian horror became immensely popular western audiences, allowing movies like Ju-On and The Host to reach more viewers than ever before. If any film deserves credit for this, it has to be Hideo Nakata's Ringu.

Based on the 1991 novel of the same name, Ringu centres around a psychic teenager called Sadako. Terrified of her supernatural powers, her father sealed Sadako in a well, leaving her to die. Before she perished, she imprinted her rage into a tape that kills anyone one week after watching it.

As Detective Reiko and her ex-husband, Ryuji, learn about the cursed cassette, they piece together the origins of this mysterious girl. Even though Sadako is teased through the movie, she is never seen until the end. Because she's built up so much, the inevitable confrontation with her could've been a letdown.

On the contrary, her big reveal is the film's most terrifying moment. In the climax, Ryuji is at home when his television turns on by itself. He then watches Sadako crawl out of the screen, dragging her body on the floor, and scaring him to death by glaring at him with a single black eye. Pretty much anyone who watched this scene didn't sleep for a week.
