10 Creepiest Horror Movie Posters Of All Time
6. The Hills Have Eyes 2
The Hills Have Eyes 2 features a cast of characters who, at least initially, divert from the usual vulnerable victims, given they are a group of Army National Guardsmen.
However, much of their fates are the usual horror
slaughter. And their enemies are just as terrifying as in former outings - Papa Hades in particular is best observed through your fingers.
The original movie poster - the one that makes the list - was banned for depicting torture. It features a person tied in a burlap sack pulled by rope across barren desert land by the bloodthirsty Letch. The captive’s hand peaks out of the sack’s top and tries in vain to grasp the hot sand, but their effort leaves only claw marks.
Much of the creepiness of the poster’s design is conveyed by its perspective. The hand nears the bottom of the image, the tracks near its edge. Both create a feeling that the captive is reaching out in desperation, however, the viewer is powerless to help.
The edited version of the poster kept the concept, but substituted the grasping hand for a pair of feet.
