10 Dangerous Movie Worlds And How To Survive Them

4. A Nightmare On Elm Street

A Nightmare On Elm StreetHow To Survive: Become addicted to Crystal Meth. A Nightmare on Elm Street is one of the greatest horror films ever made, taking a genius premise and just completely running with it. Wes Craven's film has its characters being haunted in their dreams by a savage burns victim/pederast named Freddy Kreuger, and if he manages to kill the kids in their dreams, then they die in real life also. Thus, they try a few novel ways to stay awake - such as sleeping in shifts - though this largely proves impractical, and people end up being devoured by their own beds (yes, really). The key, my research suggests, is just to become addicted to Crystal Meth. The notoriously moorish controlled substance will enable users to stay awake for days and even weeks at a time, though it's fair to say that by the time Freddy has stopped bothering you, the addiction will probably have melted your brain into mush. Some of the symptoms of Crystal Meth addiction include severe hallucinations, so though Freddy won't be able to kill you, you could be driven to removing yourself from the equation out of sheer madness.
