10 Darkly Disturbing Disney Movie Theories

7. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs Is About Cocaine

Zootopia isn’t the first time Disney has gone down the old drug metaphor route apparently. According to some fan theorists out there, Disney’s pioneering classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is really about crack’s socially acceptable cousin, cocaine.

Sure, Walt Disney’s public persona may have been warm and wholesome but he was rumoured to be anti-Semitic, racist and sexist so there’s always the chance he could been surreptitiously snorting a bit of the Colombian marching powder behind the scenes too and while under the influence of a coke binge thought it appropriate to produce a cartoon allegorising his abuse of the drug. After all, ‘Snow White’ is slang for cocaine.

Naturally, Disneyphiles will point out that the movie is based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale Schneewittchen so Snow White’s title is merely the product of translation rather than a direct reference to Disney’s supposed drug of choice.

Well, consider this naysayers: the dwarfs in the original fairy tale didn’t have names, but Disney chose to give them names like Happy, Grumpy, Sneezy and Dopey – all potential side effects of doing cocaine. And then, of course, there’s Doc because continued cocaine abuse will most likely end up with you seeing a medical professional at some point.

Walt Disney: coke fiend confirmed.
