10 DC Characters Who NEED Their Own Movie

4. Raven

Warner Bros. Animation

There are some big parallels you can draw between Marvel and DC. For all Bruce Wayne’s hotshot nature is an act, taken in totality he’s a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, equipped with no superpowers but a fantastic, gadget-loaded suit and a willingness to do what must be done.

Superman and Captain America share a strong sense of justice, duty, and are symbols of how America sees themselves, while Thor and Wonder Woman are both mega powerful gods with medieval weaponry and long, luxurious hair.

The Big Three of each franchise are a massive draw and share undeniable similarities, but where Marvel has rolled the dice on unknowns, DC has played it much safer.

It’s not that Raven is even that much of an unknown. She’s one of the central characters in the Teen Titans cartoon, and is one of the more popular stars of new TV show Titans; although nothing in that show has taken the world by storm.

With her mystical powers and gothic image, she offers a sharp contrast to what DC have already put out there... and that’s exactly what they need to give audiences right now.

With brave direction, Raven could be a visual spectacle to rival Doctor Strange.
