10 DC Comics That Would Make Perfect Animated Films

5. Green Lantern: Rebirth

Superman Kingdom Come
DC Comics

Some will say this story is just a retelling of Green Lantern: First Flight, but that’s far from the truth. The DC animated film failed to bring audiences a realistic origin for Hal Jordan. Green Lantern: Rebirth is the story fans deserve.

It’s a resurrection story about Hal Jordan finding himself as Green Lantern once again. If anything, the narrative complements First Flight. Parallax and Sinestro both make appearances in this comic and the plot runs the full gambit of intrigue.

Hal Jordan never feels safe and in charge for a moment in the story. It’s oddly satisfying to watch him work with his heels backed against the edge with failure waiting for him at the bottom if he falls.

DC is severely lacking Green Lantern stories. It’s time to fix that and give the viewers a more compelling outlook that fans of the hero can support. It’s been over eight years and counting. Ryan Reynolds didn’t ruin the character that much. It’s time to get back on track with Hal Jordan.
