10 Deleted Moments In Recent Movies That Nearly Happened
3. The Spot Almost Hung Out At A Villain Bar - Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse
Mile Morales wasn't the only anomaly on show during the recent Across the Spider-Verse animated sequel, with this latest Spider-Man adventure also being a rare superhero flick that didn't contain a post-credits stinger.
But as revealed by producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord to IndieWire in the wake of the Spider-flick's release, there was actually an early idea that involved the villainous Spot showing up in the post-credits as a follow-up to another scene that was ultimately deleted from the multiverse mayhem.
In that first scene, Johnathon Ohnn would have found himself at a Spidey villain watering hole where he struggled to get himself a drink due to no one noticing him. And after finally getting his hands on a beverage, the fluid only goes and leaks out of all of his holes. Nightmare.
However, the eventual post-credits scene would have then seen the now rather powerful and badass Spot return to the bar, confidently take a seat in a booth, and then dispatch all of the villains who had teased him earlier on.
Despite head of character animation Alan Hawkins admitting that the sight of the Spot going from loser to unstoppable big bad in the bar was one of his "favourite things", though, both moments never made it into the flick after Lord noted how it was pretty "hard to beat where we left off".
