10 Directors Who Need To Join The DC Cinematic Universe

6. Wally Pfister

Wally PfisterWhy should Pfister join the DCCU? Having served as Director of Photography on every Christopher Nolan film from Memento to The Dark Knight Rises, Pfister has at least proved his cinematography genius. He deserves credit alongside Nolan for the broad, sweeping shots of Gotham and beyond that made the Dark Knight Trilogy so enthralling, and it's probably safe to say he doesn't dislike superheroes after an experience like that. His debut effort as director, though, was€w ell, Transcendence promised a whole lot and delivered only a handful of it. Pfister shouldn't be entirely faulted for that, though, and he certainly shouldn't be written off for one bad movie. The man knows what he's doing, and his knowledge could be a valuable asset to a shared film universe. What should Pfister direct? Negative reaction to Transcendence likely put Wally Pfister back a few steps, so Warner Brothers may hesitate to hand over the reins to a major title. A visual-heavy venture, like the one required by heroes such as Atom, may be a possibility, and having Pfister direct a Golden Age hero like Hourman or Sandman could also make for stunning viewing.
