10 Directors Who Are Locked In Movie Jail

4. Josh Trank

The Director: Trank became a hot property after the success of Chronicle, which combined a superhero origin story with found footage. Somehow it wasn€™t terrible, so he was offered a whole load of exciting projects to develop. He chose Fantastic Four as his follow-up, and things went rapidly downhill from there. The Crime: Fantastic Four had a famously messy production, which seemed to result from Trank being overwhelmed by the scale of it. He had clashes with his actors, the studio and even his landlord, after his dogs allegedly caused over $100,000 worth of damage to his rented house. Just before release Trank dropped €“ or was pushed €“ out of a Star Wars spin-off and tweeted about his displeasure with the released version of Fantastic Four. All the bad press added up and the film quickly bombed. The Sentence: Trank has been quiet since the movie came out and he has nothing lined up, and he€™ll likely remain that way for at least another year. In the meantime it€™s likely more stories will emerge of what really happened on the set, which might make it even harder for him to make a recover. Whatever his next move is, he won€™t be allowed anywhere near a superhero movie again.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
