Of course, if there was going to be one director appearing twice on this list, it was probably going to be David Fincher, who is known for his hard-headed and long-winded approach when making films, shooting take after take after perfectionist take until he gets exactly what he wants. It should come as no surprise he's had run-ins with more than just Ben Affleck on set throughout more than three decades in the business, working with stars of all temperaments and egos.

And who has more ego than Robert Downey Jr.?

Not yet into his truly insufferable post-Iron Man, I-am-the-king-of-the-world phase, Downey was nonetheless a bit of a firecracker while filming Fincher's real-life killer thriller Zodiac.

During filming, Fincher butted Downey's equally hot head, with the pair battling over the director's strict set, numerous takes (up to 70 at a time) and long, laborious working hours. And suffice to say, the typically pampered RDJ lost the plot a little. The star urinated in jars and left them around the set in protest, presumably hoping the presence of fresh p*ss would make Fincher reconsider the lack of regular breaks. Well, it didn't.
