10 Directors Who Should Helm The X-Men Reboot

2. Edgar Wright

Edgar Wright is a popular figure with fanboy and fangirl audiences and many would love to see him direct a superhero film. He has already adapted the cult comic book series Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and co-wrote The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn with Steven Moffat and Joe Cornish. He was famously linked to direct Ant-Man before creative differences with Marvel Studios led to a parting of ways.

Wright is a fan of genre cinema, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz loving mick-take of the zombie and buddy cop genres, making fun of tropes whilst also embracing them. Some fans of the X-Men comics would want to see the films to take a lighter tone and Wright would bring a colourful, comic book look to the films.

Wright is also one of the best action directors around and deserves the opportunity to make a big budget blockbuster. He could make some truly terrific superhero fights if given the chance.
