10 Disgustingly Gory Moments in Otherwise Tame Films

5. The Play€™s the Thing - The Addams Family

the addams family One wouldn€™t think that a PG-13 rated version of a 1960s sitcom (and previous comic strip) would offer much grotesque gore, but alas one scene €“ played entirely for laughs of course€“ does offer buckets and buckets worth of blood. Young Wednesday and Pugsley Addams perform a scene from Shakespeare€™s Hamlet for their school€™s talent show. It features the two teens engaging in a sword fight that turns into a bloodbath. First Pugsley slices open a fake wound in his sister€™s arm sending a pulsing spray of stage blood all over the place. Next comes Pugsley€™s sliced off arm and Wednesday€™s gashed neck which begins comically spraying all over the audience. Those in the auditorium are horrified, expect for the Addams kids€™ parents who radiantly applaud their children€™s gift for the macabre.
