10 Disney Villains Who Were Just Misunderstood

1. Lotso Was Just Trying to Help Other Toys Avoid The Fate That Befell Him

DisneyDisneyLotso is a toy with some serious abandonment issues, and understandably so. Back when he was a new toy, he belonged to a little girl, and he loved her -- that is, until she left him behind at a rest stop. Sure, it was an accident, but Lotso doesn't know that. By the time he hikes all the way home (an act of devotion from any toy), he discovers that he has been replaced; his precious little girl has a new Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear. That's a traumatic experience for anyone, let alone a stuffed animal that doesn't have the emotional depth to deal with the issue. And it's hardly like that there a ton of teddy bear therapists that will help him sort through his feelings. Is it any wonder that he develops a detached and fatalistic approach to the world? He's just trying to protect himself from getting hurt again, and his lack of access to his emotions leads to his immoral actions in the film.
