10 Doomed Movie Characters Saved By Reshoots
5. Silas Stone - Justice League

The slapdash production of the 2017 version of Justice League - aka "Josstice League" - is basically legendary at this point, and among the many, many changes made to Zack Snyder's initial vision was the fate of Cyborg's (Ray Fisher) father Silas Stone (Joe Morton).
Originally Snyder had Silas sacrificing himself mid-way through the movie, as becomes Cyborg's motivating arc for the rest of the story. The film was even set to end with a voiceover from Silas, who recorded a poignant message for his son before his death.
When Joss Whedon came aboard, though, he scrapped Silas' death, keeping him alive and replacing Silas' intended voiceover with a new one from Lois Lane (Amy Adams).
The abrupt manner in which Silas basically just evaporates from the Whedon Cut didn't make it remotely surprising that he originally died.
But in a most unexpected twist, Warner Bros. eventually allowed Snyder to complete his epic original version of the movie.
Last year's Zack Snyder's Justice League restored Silas' original death, where he vaporises himself in order to fire off a signal which lets Cyborg track the Mother Box.
