10 Dumb Decisions In The DC Extended Universe We Can't Forgive

7. Superman's CGI Mouth

Justice League Superman Henry Cavill

While the tragic death of Zack Snyder's daughter was used to explain why the filmmaker wasn't returning to direct Justice League's reshoots, the fact Warner Bros. enlisted Joss Whedon to write those proves that they wanted to make some major and fundamental changes to the movie. He also directed them, and the man responsible for The Avengers pretty much killed the League's franchise.

With studio execs insisting that the film be released in November 2017 as planned, so they wouldn't miss out on their respective bonuses, Whedon had to get creative to hide the moustache Henry Cavill was rocking for his memorable Mission: Impossible - Fallout role.

VFX these days is incredible, but a rushed schedule meant that Cavill ended up looking like he either had some sort of deformity or was the creation of someone who had only just started working in visual effects. The scenes with his CGI face stood out like a sore thumb, and while Whedon did deliver a hopeful portrayal of Superman, the Man of Steel looked too dumb to ever really take seriously.

This should not have been allowed to happen, and we don't know how or why Warner Bros. actually ended up releasing Justice League in this state.
