10 Dumb Decisions In The MCU We Can't Forgive

1. Not Making Bucky The New Captain America

Bucky Cap
Marvel Comics

Introducing an African American Captain America is a huge deal, and definitely a step in the right direction for diversity in the MCU. However, as great as it will be to see Anthony Mackie's Falcon wield the shield, Marvel Studios has glossed over what could have been an arguably even more interesting way to explore Cap's legacy.

After Steve Rogers dies in the comic books, it's Bucky/The Winter Soldier who decides to fill the void he's left, and the concept of a former Soviet Union assassin now serving as America's greatest hero proved to be gripping reading. Unfortunately, Marvel Studios has never really given Bucky's relationship with Steve the screentime it deserves.

We've certainly been made aware that they're friends, but putting Bucky on ice at the end of Black Panther meant he wasn't part of Cap's Secret Avengers, and Sam Wilson has subsequently filled the void he left. "BuckyCap" is a fan-favourite character for a reason, but not one we can look forward to seeing after Avengers: Endgame.
