10 Dumbest Decisions In DCEU History

9. Shazam Showed Thad Sivana The Power Of The Seven Deadly Sins

Thanks to the Council of Wizards choosing Black Adam as their Champion, a move which itself could have made this list, Shazam was eventually the only sorcerer left. With his powers dwindling, soon to be unable to keep the Seven Deadly Sins at bay, he desperately sought someone with which to imbue his immense power.

The one caveat was that this person had to be pure of heart, something that he tested before allowing them to touch his staff by tempting them with the Eye of Sin. It would seem that finding someone in this world with a pure heart is harder than he imagined.

After Thad Sivana was shown to be ruthlessly bullied by both his older brother and his own father, Shazam brought him to the Rock of Eternity to test his heart. On the surface, there was nothing to indicate that Thad was pure of heart. The fact that he was bullied didn’t mean anything in this regard.

Unsurprisingly, he was too tempted by the power of the Sins, and Shazam sent him back to the real world, only he left with a taste for power. He came back many years later and took the Eye of Sin for himself, something that wouldn’t have happened had the Wizard been more careful with who he was revealing the truth of magic to.
