10 Dumbest Decisions Made By Star Wars Characters

7. Saw Sends Bodhi To Bor Gullet - Rogue One (2016)

Legendary guerrilla fighter Saw Gerrera may have spent decades running devastating sabotage and covert operations against the Empire, but that does not mean he is in any way an objective rationalist. Far from it, in fact.

In Rogue One, Imperial cargo pilot Bodhi Rook defects from the Empire, carrying a holographic message from Galen Erso (the man who designed the Death Star with its fatal flaw) and demands to be taken to Saw, to whom he wishes to bring valuable information that could help overthrow the Empire - which is supposed to be one of Saw's life goals. Job done, right?

Unfortunately not. The radicalised Saw's years spent in hiding, looking over his shoulder with one eye always open, have led him to be sceptical of new alliances. Suspecting Bodhi is a double-agent, he decides to give the ex-pilot to Bor Gullet, his mairan - a tentacular monster with the ability to read and scour other minds - to torture and test him and, ultimately, addle his brain.

Not recognising Bodhi for the wealth of practical value and information he can provide in the fight against the Empire is Saw's final slip-up, and one which, had things been different, may or may not have helped him get out of dodge before the Empire struck back.
