Defining Dumb Moment: Keeping his zombie costume on around people with guns.

To give Bill Murray his due, the surprisingly realistic zombie get-up he dons in Zombieland does serve a useful purpose … at least for a while. Thanks to his costume Bill spent his time in post-apocalyptic Beverly Hills roaming amongst the dead undetected and playing golf.

But all good things must come to and end and such is the case with Bill’s once genius ruse when he comes into contact with people who aren’t the living dead and it proves so convincing that he almost gets himself bludgeoned to death with a golf club by Tennessee and Wichita.

With nary a lesson learned, Bill proceeds to get stoned (a cardinal sin in a horror movie) with his newfound friends who just narrowly avoided killing him and decides to play a prank on Columbus who isn’t yet privy to the fact that Bill Murray is just playing dress-up.

Sneaking up on someone who’s understandably quite jumpy after battling the undead across the USA and is armed with a loaded gun while pretending to be a zombie really isn’t exactly the brightest idea in the world. And it’s that kind of dumb decision-making that gets you shot through the heart.
