10 Dumbest Movie Reboots Ever

After decades of misfires, WB and DC seemed to be finally committing to the idea of Superman once again. Superman Returns had been brushed under the rug as quickly as humanly possible and in the aftermath of Nolan's gangbuster success with the Dark Knight trilogy, the studio was looking to do something similar DC's other headliner.

Sadly, what we got was just a poor man's imitation of a Nolan film, rather than anything that even vaguely resembled a Superman movie.

The structure is non-linear. The script is written by Nolan's go-to writer, David S. Goyer. The music is done by Hans Zimmer. When we open on our hero, he is in the midst of a winding, soul-searching journey during which he has grown out a beard.

The villain is a significant figure from the hero's past who brings the destruction of the hero's background to the forefront of the hero's new home. This script might as well have started as a copy-and-paste of Batman Begins, with Goyer just changing out Batman's name for Superman's and evolved from there.

As if that's not enough, Snyder also makes sure to undermine everything that matters about Superman as a character. He's brooding and moody, he has no Fortress of Solitude, Lois Lane immediately knows his secret identity, and he doesn't give a damn about saving anyone in Metropolis.
