10 Dumbest Movie Reboots Ever

3. I, Frankenstein (2014)

The Mummy
Lionsgate

What surely has to be one of the worst pitches ever conceived somehow made its way to theaters. The film wound up being way more Resident Evil or Underworld-lite than Frankenstein and manages to insult fans of the source material from every corner of the world.

Fans who love Shelley's original novel, this film was written by some folks who didn't care and seemingly never even took the time to read it. Fans who love the James Whale films, this film has no interest in even remotely acknowledging such blueprints for greatness exist.

No, this film is far too busy selling a pitch that never should have been given, for a film that never should have been made, to an audience who couldn't care less.

As embarrassingly awful as Universal's own monster films have been in the last decade, at least they've never delivered something as irreparably awful and offensive as this horrendous piece of trash.
