10 Dumbest Villain Plans From Sci-Fi Movies

2. Unleashing Giant Creatures - Emma Russell (Godzilla: King Of The Monsters)

The word "kaiju" doesn't exactly conjure up images of the warm and fuzzy variety.

A Japanese word meaning "strange beast", kaiju is the name given to the genre of films involving huge monsters, usually attacking cities or each other.

In short, these guys are not to be messed with. So why did this woman from Godzilla: King of the Monsters think it was a good idea to unleash loads of them on the planet all at once?

Dr. Emma Russell is a paleobiologist, which sounds like it's a made-up title but it actually isn't. At the beginning of the film, she's kidnapped by a group of eco-terrorists, but it is later revealed that she was in cahoots with the treehuggers the entire time.

Russell reveals her motivations behind helping the group release the kaiju. She says that mankind has done so much damage to the planet that they must be wiped out in order for it to heal.

Whilst she's certainly right about the problems humanity has caused the Earth, she neglected to think about all the destruction giant, laser-blasting monsters could create.

Time to hand that PhD back, Dr. Russell, because this was not smart.
