10 Dystopian Movie Futures You Really Wouldn't Want To Live In
7. Idiocracy
Essentially, Idiocracy is a satire that takes the idea of only stupid people reproducing in large numbers to an absurd conclusion -- over a period of many years, the IQ of the general public has lowered dramatically, leaving an ignorant, child-like populace in charge. In a way, it would kind of be cool to live in a world where everyone was far less intelligent than you. It would be like magically being transported into the world of infomercials, where no one understands how to flip an egg or strain spaghetti. But you have to think that after a while that would start to get old, and then it would just be incredibly annoying. Anyone that thinks an energy drink is what plants crave is not someone we want to be around without punching them in the face. In a way, this is one of the most depressing dystopian futures on the list, because it's probably the one that has the biggest chance of happening in the near future. That is to say, if it isn't already. The success of Justin Bieber's Baby has to suggest that we're certainly heading in that direction, anyway.
