Following Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg), we soon learn that the pair often play second fiddle to the supremely cool, charisma-inducing Chris Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson), who make Gamble and Hoitz look about as cool as volcanic ash. Fortunately, Gamble and Hoitz get their chance to shine when Danson and Highsmith inexplicably jump off a very tall building and splatter into the pavement whilst chasing a perp. Not a good idea, but not a bad film, either.
