6. Dr Strange (1978)
Starring: Peter Hooten The upcoming Dr Strange project was probably facing enough issues already, considering its comparative strangeness compared to the other, already successful comic book movie properties, without the spectre of an already existing adaptation dragging the property's name through the mud. By no means the worst of these comic book failures, Dr Strange was relatively good for a late 70s made-for-TV film, though it looks terribly dated now. Again this was designed as a pilot, but the initial reception of the film meant any potential project hit the skids before it could even get off the ground.
