What happens? We are forced to observe in absolute terror and shock as the the greatest actor this planet has ever known, Nicolas Cage, is subjected to intense torture which includes limb-snapping and bees.
Why is it hilarious? We all know why. Because Cage narrates everything that happens to him in the way only Cage can. Watching him have bees poured over his face as he yells "NOT THE BEES!" makes one ponder one's own existence. Many say remakes are unnecessary, but if you approach this film as a comedy homage to the original then not only will you get through it with ease, it will become one of your all-time favourite comedy films.
