Within mere moments of the TS4 news breaking, the Internet was up in arms, with communities such as Reddit, Twitter and IMDB expressing their absolute, unequivocal disgust that Pixar would dare risk tarnishing the impeccable legacy of their most beloved franchise. A by-product of the Internet allowing such immediacy of information and freedom of speech is that it also has the potential to become a pre-hate echo chamber regarding pretty much any major pop-culture product, be it an album, movie or video game. One small sliver of bad news will create a ripple effect throughout the community, creating a tidal wave of negativity that is incredibly difficult to stop. Toy Story 4 has been pretty heavily pre-hated already, in stark contrast to the anxious yet cautiously optimistic responses to the previous sequels. Fans are already going in with a negative mindset, and as such, any small mistake or perceived flaw will likely be amplified twenty-fold, in an effort to justify their agenda that the series should have ended with Toy Story 3. Still, the proof will ultimately be in the pudding, and if the movie is somehow good enough to live up to the original three, then none of this will even matter.
