It's a fair guess to assume that Bonnie may very well be the new protagonist of the Toy Story franchise, given that by 2017, Andy will be in his mid-twenties and likely thoroughly moved on with his life, while Bonnie will still be a child, at around 11 years of age. Pixar gave audiences three movies to know and love Andy, no easy feat considering the colourful characters he had to contend with. Still, Andy reflected each viewer's own childhood, and so he was immensely easy to relate to. If Pixar simply try to pull the same trick again with Bonnie, likeable though she is, it most certainly won't have the same emotional impact. Though the movie will surely reference Andy and perhaps even feature him in cameo form, it would make sense to carry the theme of moving on forward and make Bonnie the new franchise poster child. Living up to Andy's legacy won't be easy, though.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
