5. Leon Is A Total Loser - Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City

When it comes to video game adaptations butchering characters from the source material, though, Uncharted is thoroughly one-upped by the wretched Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.

This is admittedly a film with issues coming out the wazoo in every direction, but its true cardinal sin was the decision to treat beloved franchise hero Leon S. Kennedy (Avan Jogia) like an absolute chump.

Where to even begin? The first time we see him he's a boozed-up, hungover mess of a rookie cop, and throughout the film serves as the butt of everybody's jokes in the Raccoon City Police Department.

Falling asleep at the RPD front desk is one thing, but it's also mentioned that he accidentally shot his partner prior to the events of the film, yet was spared a firing due to his father's connections on the force.

Leon ends up doing almost nothing useful throughout the entire film except for firing a rocket at a mutated William Birkin (Neal McDonough) in the finale.

While Leon was certainly a wet-around-the-ears rookie in the Resident Evil 2 video game, this is something else entirely. It's enough of a character assassination to damn-near confirm that writer-director Johannes Roberts isn't much of a Leon fan.

In a movie already skating on thin ice with fans, this was the last straw for many.
