10 Excruciatingly Bad Films You Should Die Before You See
6. Striptease
You don't automatically associate Demi Moore with comedies - the intentional kind, anyway - but here she is in an adaptation of Carl Hiaasen's novel about a stripper who becomes embroiled in a murder plot involving a crooked Congressman.
Leonard Maltin called the resulting picture "not funny enough or dramatic enough or sexy enough or bad enough to qualify as entertainment in any category", and he's right. Despite a cast that includes Burt Reynolds, Robert Patrick and Ving Rhames, nobody gets an opportunity to raise any laughs, steal the show or even deliver a good line.
There’s nothing to work with in writer/director Andrew Bergman’s script and he seems to know it, lingering on the strip scenes longer than is strictly necessary. It ends with the villains trapped in a sugar mountain with just their heads sticking out, apparently unaware they're not in a Three Stooges short.
