10 Extremely Brief Movie Characters Who Totally Deserve Spin-Offs

3. The Bourne Series - The Treadstone Operatives

clive owen the bourne identity Rather than setting up a whole new character with a much blander actor, the Bourne series could have took the bull with both horns and used one of the original operatives for a new direction to it€™s story. Sequel wise, it may not have worked as many of them are killed by Bourne, but we could have just as easily seen a prequel showing the lives of any of these guys. Known as The Treadstone Operatives, their brief mention or fight with Jason warrant them a small, yet important part of the series. Instead, The Bourne Legacy has nothing to do with the most interesting aspect (The Treadstone operatives) and instead opts to follow Aaron Cross, a member of a black ops program whose agents are genetically enhanced. One character in particular that begged a prequel is The Professor (Clive Owen) who was originally based in Barcelona. Covering the world with hit after hit, this sniper could easily have advanced the globe trotting aspect of the series and continued the the depth of Operation Treadstone. The almost silent hitman could fill the Damon void way better than Renner did. Instead we get Jeremy Renner, who is void of personality and a huge step back from Matt Damon. The result is the empty vessel flick €˜The Bourne Legacy€™. Never mind his legacy, lets see more of him or those who surrounded him in the first three films. Even Clive Owen has more personality than Renner.
