10 Famous Actors Who Have Resigned Themselves To Just Doing Cameos
2. Tim Robbins
When you think of Tim Robbins, you probably think of The Shawshank Redemption and hey, maybe you think of Mystic River, too. Outside of those movies, though, Tim Robbins hasn't really appeared on a large selection of memorable flicks, and as of... well, fairly recently... he seems to have resigned himself from having anything vaguely resembling a proper acting career, and has opted instead for smaller roles and cameo appearances. Even when he appeared in Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds remake back in 2005 he was in it for like 15 minutes. Cast your eyes across his filmography, then, and you'll see that Robbins pretty much seems to be taking whatever roles only require him to be on set for a few hours: "Dad" in Zathura: A Space Adventure (he doesn't even get a character name!), "The Stranger" in Tenacious D and the Pick and Destiny, and we all remember him making that Anchorman appearance in the big battle scene, don't we? Granted, that was a long while back, but it was a sign of the times, people. Thankfully, Robbins' upcoming movies seem to have him back in leading roles, so we'll see.
