10 Famous Actors Who Were Forced To Appear In Movies Against Their Will

10. Roy Scheider - Jaws 2

Jaws is renowned as one of the best movies of all-time; this is partly because of actor Roy Scheider, who gives a brilliant performance as Chief Martin Brody, the poor son of a gun tasked with cleaning up Amity Island after a great white shark kills a bunch of people. Whilst Jaws is a masterpiece in every way, Jaws 2... well, not so much. That said, it's not quite as bad as its reputation would have you believe. There are a lot of good things about the very unnecessary sequel to Steven Spielberg's masterpiece, and as a result it has its fans. Roy Scheider, however, who reprised his role from the first flick, is not one of them. The reason he came back? He left shooting a role in The Deer Hunter over "creative differences," breaking a three-picture deal with Universal. Universal then offered to forgive Scheider if he starred in Jaws 2. Whenever probed on his return, the actor enigmatically said: "I was fulfilling a contractual obligation." Translation: "I wanted to avoid being sued by Universal and I had no choice, but make no mistake... I did not want to be in Jaws 2." Hey, at least it wasn't Jaws 3-D, Roy - or Jaws 4: The Revenge, for that matter. Shudder.
