10 Famous Movie Scenes (With Factual Errors You Never Noticed)

5. The Runway In The Final Sequence Is About 15 Miles Longer Than The World's Longest - Fast & Furious 6

Fast and Furious 6 Before audiences were exposed to the sheer genius that is of course Fast & Furious 6, I doubt that anybody really thought about how long the world's longest runway might be - everybody who saw the movie probably found themselves thinking about it afterwards, though, given that the runway featured in the film's climatic final action sequence, which has our heroes pursuing an aircraft in a number cars, goes on for what feels like forever. Fact is, the world's longest paved runway is located at the Qamdo Bamda airport in China, and it's around 3.5 miles long. The runway featured here... well, it's a hell of a lot longer, apparently, given that - having calculated vehicle speed and the length of the scene - it would probably have to be about 18 miles in length to allow such an action scene to take place. Presumably the characters were too busy at this time to realise the absurdity of it all!
