6. Jaws
Ok, I know what you're thinking. "DON'T TOUCH JAWS!", "JAWS IS A CLASSIC!", "YOU SON OF A .....!". I agree with you! Jaws IS a classic. The ultimate creature feature. Great characters, a terrific cast and a fairly realistic looking shark when you consider that the film was out in 1975. But let's face it, the sequels were a hugely disappointing cheese fest. We still watched them because we desperately wanted more Jaws, but we struggled to get past the amateur effects and the great white shark who (unlike any other great white we've ever known about) travels to the Bahamas, seemingly blessed with enough intelligence to pursue Ellen Brodie and miraculously learns how to roar like a bear. It has now been 26 years since Jaws: The Revenge re-wrote biology and we're still craving more Jaws. With modern FX and the growing popularity of 3D, there's no doubt that a new Jaws would have us launching our popcorn. Coupled with a plausible story and a strong cast, you can imagine the potential for a whole new Jaws franchise.
