5. Bob Dylan

There's not much more you can say about Bob Dylan that hasn't already been said. The man is 72-years-old and he's still making records and touring all over the world. Unlike Eminem and Prince, Bob Dylan had already established himself as a legend by the time he received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. The song was "Things Have Changed" and it was featured in the 2000 film Wonder Boys, which starred Michael Douglas and was directed by Curtis Hanson. Despite his legendary status, Bob Dylan was not exactly a shoo-in for the award at the time. He was actually up against quite a few heavy-hitters in the category: Sting, Bjork, and Randy Newman were not going to go down easily. Randy Newman, at the time, had 14 Academy Award nominations with zero wins. The Academy wasn't going to deny Randy Newman yet again, were they? Well, that turned out to be the case. Bob Dylan won for his song and Newman once again went home empty-handed. Luckily, Newman would finally win the very next year for his song in Monster's Inc..
