4. John Wayne vs. John McClane
Pit what are arguably two of America's greatest heroes against one another? Blasphemy. But these are troubling times, and difficult questions must be asked. For example, who would win in a fight: John Wayne or John McClane? You might want to go with the sentimental answer. John Wayne is an American institution, and he's gotten himself out of plenty of scrapes before this one. He was bowleggedly fighting Injuns back before John McClane could walk, so he's definitely got the experience to get himself a win. But maybe his enemies weren't quite as tough as McClane's. If John Wayne had to fight an old-timey version of Hans Gruber, history might have turned out very differently.
Who Would Win: In my eyes, John McClane would squeak out a win here. It would be close, though, if that makes you western fans feel any better.
