Do all your friends hate Fantasy movies for some reason? Show them this list.

Do your loved ones hate fantasy movies? Do they also hate music and joy? Well, this list looks to change that. Whether you like the big laughs of a comedy or the spooky scares of a thriller, this genre has something for everyone!

Some people see fantasy as merely swords and sorcerers and nothing else. However, even the smallest dash of imagination can make a familiar story magical. So, if your roommate loves comedy, they'll love an evil spirit, pre-batman Michael Keaton terrorizing Alec Baldwin.

If your significant other is into horror, they will love the frights the Labyrinth holds. Do they like bears? How about an adorably dressed talking bear whose story might bring you to tears.

There isn't a story that fantasy can't inhabit and make better. Whether the reality is vastly different from our own or only slightly altered, a change in perception challenges our understanding of life, death, and morality.

Whatever hang-ups your loved ones have regarding the genre, this is the list for them!

10. Hook

Beetlejuice Lydia
TriStar Pictures

A sequel to a movie that doesn't exist, Hook finds a magnificent new way to tell Peter Pan's story. Robin Williams's incredible performance paired with practical effects and sets are brilliant. What separates this Pan tale from others is its ability to take a children's story and make it accessible for the entire family.

In its accessibility, we find it's not heavy in lore, nor is it devoid of it. Under Steven Spielberg's direction, we see a grown-up Peter Pan who's forgotten his childhood as the flying, pirate fighting, lost boy. The loss of childlike innocence is something a lot of adults can understand. Hook offers a glimpse into why it's essential to have that kind of joy in your life.

The movie shows that as adults, we can't solely focus on our careers and responsibilities. It's essential to be able to enjoy life. We see this struggle, not only in Peter Pan but with the ageing Captain Hook. The Captain kidnaps Peter's kids solely to relive an old war.

The reason why fantasy haters will love this movie is that it addresses the very thing they detest. It's okay to have some nonsensical fun.
