10 Films That Only Make Sense If You See The Director’s Cut
2. Blade Runner
It took Ridley Scott well over two decades to perfect Blade Runner (to his own standards, at least), make it cohesive and deliver his original vision.
This was finally achieved in 2007 when he put out his Final Cut of the sci-fi classic, a polished-up version with a tighter structure and the ending the director intended.
There a whopping seven different versions of Blade Runner out there, and while some fans prefer the earlier cuts with their heightened ambiguity around Deckard's true nature, the 2007 edition is easily the most comprehensive.
How long that will remain the case is anybody's guess, because Scott is probably toying with an eighth cut since the movie's long-awaited sequel is close to release.
