10 Films Which Accidentally Predicted The Future

5. Adam McKay's Heart Attack - Vice

Vice is an in depth exploration of a man who has spent his whole life trying to stay out of the spotlight: Dick Cheney. While the unconventional 2018 biopic follows the tale of Cheney's rise to the top, it was his health problems which had a part to play in the production of the film.

Considering Dick Cheney has had five heart attacks during the course of his life, Christian Bale (who was responsible for bringing the Vice President he famously called a 'charisma-free a**hole' to life) had thoroughly researched the symptoms of a heart attack.

During the filming of Vice its director Adam McKay began to suffer these symptoms which Bale had informed him were typical of a heart attack - including tingly hands and a queasy stomach - but luckily managed to neck some baby aspirins and rush to hospital preventing any severe damage to his own heart.

McKay was the first to notice the irony of making a film about a man with a long history of heart attacks and then nearly suffering one himself as he quipped "I kept saying, please don’t let me have a heart attack while I’m doing a movie about Dick Cheney."

The parallels were so eerily similar that McKay even included footage of his own procedure as doctors inserted a stent into his heart during one of Cheney's numerous heart attack montages in an incredibly inventive director's cameo.
