5. Wolverine Vs. Sabretooth
Wolverine and Sabretooth had some unfinished business from the original X-Men film. Their battle on top of the Statue of Liberty was interrupted by Cyclops blasting Sabretooth into the water. Given Sabretooth's healing power, the blast and fall from the statue would not have killed him. The connection between Wolverine and Sabretooth was not explained in the first film, but Sabretooth clearly had an interest in Wolverine by taking his dog tags. One of the issues with Wolverine in the final fight of The Last Stand was that he had no-one for him to fight personally, unlike in the earlier films. Imagine in the heat of the battle, Wolverine picks up a familiar scent. It is Sabretooth out for revenge. They start to duke it out like old times. The battle rages on for what seems like an eternity, with Wolverine and Sabretooth being equally matched. The battle seems more like a battle between two beasts rather than two men with both of them fighting with a beastial rage. The battle finally ends with Wolverine barely escaping with his life.
