10 Foolproof Steps For A Perfect Harry Potter Remake
6. Release (Or Start) It Annually On July 31st
This one wouldn't necessarily play a major part in the remake's actual quality, but it would serve as a preemptive show of appreciation for the Potter fandom and hopefully turn the release of the show (and each subsequent season) into an event.
The first step is rather simple: do the show annually to most accurately present the timeframe of the story. The movies started off with this idea, but the logistics of moviemaking (and possibly competition from The Lord Of The Rings) ended that after only two goes round. With TV, this is not only more feasible, it slots right into the standard release schedule. Yes, certain shows struggle with this traditional aspect - Doctor Who's notorious for this, and it looks like Game Of Thrones is about to break its release cycle next year - but with enough forward planning it would certainly be possible.
To go one better, however, you could bring it round and make it a fandom event by releasing it on July 31st, Harry's (and J.K.'s) birthday, or (because logistics of releases and summer holidays make that tricky), perhaps the week Hogwarts' new year begins. This is obviously best fitting for the VOD release model, but would work just as serviceably with a standard "season premiere" and over time ingrain early autumn as "Harry Potter time".
