10 Franchise Reboots That Were Better Than The Original

Godzilla has had a weird history. It's difficult to say which Godzilla was a successor to which, but for the sake of this we're gonna look at the Hollywood instalments. In a series that has spawned 33 movies, the most recent Hollywood release is quite possibly the best ever.

The 2014 Godzilla starring Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, was epic in every way imaginable. The movie came sixteen years after the Roland Emmerich flick starring Matthew Broderick. The 1998 version certainly offers something in the way of campy 90's action movie, but never quite captured the horror and scale befitting of Godzilla.

The 2014 reboot was a much more unique take on the kaiju, with a look at what may have created the creatures, a more traditional design for the creature, as well as being the biggest Godzilla ever seen on the silver screen. A sequel is on the way next year, and it looks ever crazier. Throw in a potential show-down with King Kong down the line, and the rebooted big monster franchise looks very promising indeed.
