10 French Horror Movies You Need To See
5. Livide
Another from the twisted minds of Julien Maury and Andre Bustillo, Livid (or Livide, in French), is a film about three friends deciding to explore an old lady's home. As exciting as that sounds, it's actually an old dance academy, rumoured to hold an incredible treasure for those that are brave enough to find it; but of course, nothing is ever that simple. We are in a horror movie, after all.
Lucy, William, and Ben sneak back to the house that Lucy has worked in as a trainee-caregiver later that evening, forced to run from supernatural horrors that threaten to change their very being. From ballerinas loaded up with razors to reanimated corpses, whispers of treasure aren't losing your life over.
A follow up to the aforementioned Inside, Livide is far less gory than their directorial debut, but ramps up the gothic horror in its place. There might not be as much blood, but there's definitely still teeth in the film yet.
