10 Funniest Characters In Sci-Fi Movie History

9. Bill & Ted - The Bill & Ted Trilogy

Having two characters at once is kind of cheating, I know, but I think an exception can be made for Bill & Ted.

Released in 1989, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure was met with incredible reviews and grossed 40 million dollars off of a 6.5 million dollar budget. The lovable duo, and founding members of the galaxies greatest band Wyld Stallyns, quickly made their way into our hearts with their simple catchphrases, high school struggles and naïve outlook on the world.

The first film made a huge impression and quickly gained a cult following as the two best friends went back in time to meet various historical figures helping them finish their history homework in time. It's success also spawned a series of comic books, video games and a live action tv series starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter.

Although the sequel, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991), didn't replicate the same success as the first film, the third and final film titled Bill & Ted Face The Music wrapped the series off nicely in 2020 and gave new energy to the entire franchise making it go down in history as one of the great sci-fi comedy trilogies of all time.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
