The top two places on this list belong to the team of Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker. The comedy trio's commitment to the "laugh every minute" formula has resulted in some of the most priceless and exceptionally funny scenes in film history.

Naked Gun was a follow up from the short lived yet greatly appreciated comedy series Police Squad! Despite being dismissed by ABC President Antony Thomopoulos after only six episodes for requiring the "constant attention" of the audience, the comedy team were able to land a film opportunity for the cop comedy with Paramount Studios in 1988.

Starring Leslie Nielsen as bumbling police lieutenant Frank Drebin, Naked Gun received massive box office success, critical acclaim and a legacy as one of the funniest films of all time.

Hilarious throughout, the film would later spawn two sequels that also achieved significant commercial and critical success. Anthony Thomopoulos may have just slightly misread the room on this occasion!
